NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Supreme Court judge on Friday sentenced a former policeman to 30 years in prison for planning the murder of his alleged love-rival. Darren Davis , 49, learned his fate when he appeared for sentencing before Justice Renae McKay. Prosecutors alleged that Davis conspired with others to kill Jayson Whitfield, a senior clerk at the passport office, who was fatally shot outside of his home in Garden Hills on December 3, 2022. They contended and a jury accepted that Davis was driven jealousy after his girlfriend began seeing Whitfield, who was her coworker. After Whitfield was found shot dead in the front of his home, investigators allegedly found photos of Whitfield and his car in the trash folder of Davis’ phone. They also allegedly found a pinned location of Whitfield’s home in the phone.
