NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A high-ranking policeman is facing a murder charge after a deadly shooting was caught on camera. Superintendent Berneil Pinder, 51, was off-duty when he fatally shot Cody Castillo outside of Da Plantation Bar and Grill on March 21st. Pinder, a policeman of 32 years, was not required to enter a plea to the murder charge when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Ancella Evans. Bail was denied and the matter was adjourned to July 23rd for the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment. He is represented by Ian Cargill and Cassie Bethell. Police launched a criminal investigation after Pinder’s account of the circumstances that led to the shooting of the 31-year-old Pike employee did not align with footage of the incident.
