Man Accused of Raping 11-Year-Old Girl Facing Second Trial

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man accused of raping an 11-year-old girl will be tried a second time after his case ended in a mistrial. Prosecutors say Patrick Poitier molested the girl on multiple occasions in 2022. Poitier’s lawyer Keith Seymour was making his closing address to the jury when Justice Renae McKay stopped the trial. Poitier remains on bail as he awaits a new trial.
