NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A mother who attacked a teacher and damaged trophies during the assault has been fined. Natasha Mills, 36, went to S C McPherson School on March 16 to confront physical education teacher Rashad Patton after her daughter told her he had choked her. Patton denied choking the student during a meeting with Mills and the school’s principal. However, his denial did not appease Mills. She charged at Patton, pushed him against the door and choked him and knocked over several trophies in the process. Mills pleaded guilty to assault and causing damage at her arraignment before Senior Magistrate Anishka Isaacs. She has to pay a $650 fine to avoid a two-month prison sentence. She was also ordered to pay compensation of $500 to Patton and $330 to the school to avoid a default sentence of one month in prison. Inspector Timothy Bain was the prosecutor.
