Behind the polished performance is the Internal Security Division, led by Superintendent Devaughn McCartney, responsible for organizing the ceremonial parades. The 24-member platoon is carefully selected, often beginning with recruits identified at the Police Training College. Officers then undergo weeks of rigorous training to ensure synchronization, physical readiness and flawless execution — regardless of weather conditions. Officials say preparation for major events can take anywhere from four to six weeks, with practices continuing rain or shine. The result is a display of discipline that has become a hallmark of national ceremonies.
