Sentence Reduced in Indecent Assault Case From 3 Years to 2.5 Years

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – An Appeals court has reduced the sentence in an indecent assault case from three years to two years and six months. Mario Roker, 46, pleaded guilty to indecent assault at his arraignment in February 2025 and received the maximum sentence due to his extensive criminal history. Roker went into Liquors 242 in Downtown Nassau and squeezed an 18-year-old employee’s butt. The three-judge panel found that Roker’s sentence was too harsh given his guilty plea and reduced the penalty. As Roker is serving time for a sex crime, he won’t get time off for good behaviour.
