HAITI – Two Haitian journalists have been kidnapped in Port-Au-Prince as gang violence continues to grip the capital. Media outlets say Osnel Espérance of Radio Uni FM and Junior Célestin of Radio Television Megastar were abducted Friday while reporting in a downtown area controlled by the gang coalition Viv Ansanm. The group is linked to the Village de Dieu gang led by notorious leader Johnson “Izo” André. The abductions come amid heavy clashes between police and gangs in Port-au-Prince, as press freedom groups warn Haiti has become one of the most dangerous places in the world for journalists.
